In the fall of 2004 Victor Field and Erin Peterson spent about 5 months doing volunteer work at the Namaste House Orphanage in Pokhara, Nepal. Namaste House is home to about 60
Nepali orphans. The children who are cared for by Namaste House are products of many unfortunate situations but have been given a second chance to survive. The children live in a safe healthy environment and are cared for by loving and dedicated adults who are trying to make a contribution to the human family. They are provided shelter, clothing, nutritious food, education and loving care from the adults working at the orphanage.
Victor came away from Nepal with a desire to support the work of Namaste House. As is true of all endeavors it takes financial resources to help make the project a success. About $1,000.00 per child is needed each year to operate the orphanage. Victor has a plan to raise money to help the orphanage meet its financial obligations. Victor’s project is to ride his bike from Eureka, California to Newport, Rhode Island. He is asking for sponsors to pledge donations in support of Namaste House. He will be making this ride during April and May of 2007.
